This Baked Pesto Salmon fits every occasion and perfect for a high protein diet. Salmon is a fantastic food to obtain your omega 3 fatty acids which are important in all diets, especially a pregnancy diet and breastfeeding diet, and can help improve your heart health.
Steps how to cook Salmon in the oven
Preheat your oven to 400℉ or 200℃. Then, prepare the vegetables, sauce, and toppings that will go with the Salmon. For this recipe, we will be using Asparagus, Cherry Tomatoes, and Pesto Sauce. Toss the Asparagus and Cherry Tomatoes in a large bowl with Olive Oil, a pinch of Salt and Pepper.
Then, cut a square foil, the length of the sides of the foil will depend on the size of the Salmon Fillet. Make sure it is three times the size of the width of the fillet. Place the fillet at the center of the foil.
Layer Salmon over the Asparagus and season it with Salt and Pepper. Add the Pesto Salmon and top it over with Cherry Tomatoes. Drizzle it with lemon juice. All the yummy flavors of the ingredients will make the Salmon, healthy and flavorful.
To make sure that the flavors will be absorbed by the Salmon, wrap the salmon properly using the foil.
Do not tighten the fold so that the air can circulate when it is inside the oven. This will help to make the Salmon become juicier and cook the Salmon faster.
Bake for 20-28 minutes or until salmon is cooked through. Just remember that the thicker fillet will need more time. Fish is ready when the flesh flakes easily with a fork and the flesh looks opaque. You can experiment with the ingredients to add more flavor.
