These Frozen Yoghurt Bars are packed with lots of proteins and nutrients, making them a great snack to help you power through the day or just something to indulge in!
These bars have a subtle sweetness and are full of awesome flavours thanks to the naturally occurring sugars in dates complemented with yoghurt, mixed berries. These bars are perfect for breakfast or a late-night night snack, or simply to cool off during the hot summer days.
All the ingredients could be easily bought at your local health markets, and the best part is you don’t need to use any artificial flavours or sugars. The nutrition that you get from these ingredients include vitamins, fibre, protein and so much more!
First, you need to set the non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour the frozen mix berries into the pan and begin to stir, then bring to a simmer. Continue to stir the berries for a few minutes until the berries turn into a syrup. Set aside the mixed berries and let it cool completely.
Now, you need to prepare the protein bars. Place the oats, flaxseed, cinnamon, dates and peanut butter all together then start to blend. When all of the ingredients have mixed, it is ready to be placed onto the baking tray.
Distribute the blended ingredients evenly onto the baking tray, then start to press until it is flattened to form a single layer. You then need to top it off with the yoghurt and spread it evenly.
Pour the mixed berries that you set aside on top of the yoghurt layer and distribute it evenly. You can use a bread knife to spread the mixed berries evenly across your protein bars.
You need to put it in the freezer for about an hour or two (1 to 2 hours) to let it form. And finally, let it thaw for about three to five minutes (3 to 5 minutes) then cut it into equal portions.
Serve and enjoy!
